CARNEGIE HALL’S “STRAIGHT OUTTA IRELAND” at THE CITY WINERY

On March 10, Read650 presents the first spoken word event of this exciting festival, STRAIGHT OUTTA IRELAND, featuring a cast of  writer/performers–including me–in a blarney-free pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Join Read650 founder, host Edward McCann, a host of great writers and me in an afternoon of five-minute riveting readings.

From March 9 to April 15, Carnegie Hall will present Migrations: The Making of Americaa citywide festival examining the cultural legacies of three migrations: the crossings from Scotland and Ireland during the 18th and 19th centuries, the immigration of Jews from Russia and Eastern Europe between 1881 and the National Origins Act of 1924, and the Great Migration—the exodus of African American from the South to the industrialized cities of the Northeast, Midwest, and West from 1917 into the 1970s.
